Information for identifying and researching disasters
This is a list to get you started. Once you have an idea, move from Wikipedia to more academic sources!
You can browse large categories like environmental, health, science and technology for ideas. Once you know what disaster you would like to research, use the search boxes to locate news stories, video, journal articles, and more. This information should help you identify a need.
Type the term "disaster" into the orange box. This will point you to reference articles about environmental disasters, disasters of war, disasters in China, and more.
This is a great resource for looking at types of disasters, and issues related to them. It could be helpful in determining a need.

Proquest is a great database for finding information on recent disasters because it includes newspaper articles from the New York Times, The Baltimore Sun, and the Los Angelos Times as well as news magazines.
